Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya on Tuesday unravelled a widespread corruption in allocating COVID-19 beds, in an embarrassment for his own party BJP, which is in power in the state.
When critical COVID-19 patients are dying in want of oxygen, ICU and ventilator beds. Moreover, the state is facing a massive shortage of medical oxygen. He said that the investigation by his office has disclosed a “dishonourable and an unholy nexus” of representatives of zonal helplines, BBMP officials and hospitals, which allegedly created a false scarcity of beds.
WHILE SPEAKING TO REPORTERS: Tejasvi spoke on the situation that distressed family and friends are facing, “Getting a bed for a COVID-19 patient is a nightmare.”
ACCORDING TO THE REPORTS : The bed booking software (portal) always shows that the beds are occupied.
AFTER INVESTIGATION : it came to light that some Arogya Mitras deputed in private hospitals, BBMP helpline and bed booking system incharges as well as certain private hospitals have created artificial scarcity by resorting to a few unscrupulous methods and are consequently denying deserving patients much needed hospital care.
Tejasvi said in as many 4000+ instances, the BBMP incharge books the bed in the name of an asymptomatic patient as soon as he or she is informed of a vacant bed. “Thereafter, the same bed is again allotted to another patient after a few hours – either based on monetary considerations or influence by authorities in other cases,” Surya said. His team has shared a document that lists at least 12 such cases.
He also listed another instance where a patient was allegedly asked to pay money for a bed. He alleged the police have arrested the people involved in the scam after being tipped by his office.
BJP MP Tejasvi took to Twitter and shared the present number of beds vacancy in the hospitals.
But as always liberals have started using the opportunity against Tejasvi Surya.
There are several derogatory comments passed around for BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, a leader who always stands up for the people. Unbiased, thoughtful, kind and committed to the betterment of the nation, working day and night to tackle the COVID-19 situation. Yet, he is being targeted.
On a larger note where Ministers, MPs and MLAs of others Political party would try to cover up their loopholes, MP Tejasvi Surya exposed a scam which was going on. Despite praising the actions taken by him liberals are busy in giving it an Communal Angel. Keeping public health at a stake, They are busy playing COMMUNAL POLITICS.
Last night BJP MP Tejasvi Surya summed up his marathon meetings with Senior Officials and Tech volunteers and decided to change BBMP’s bed booking portals. My question is how far will liberal and secular lobbies go to play COMMUNAL POLITICS, leaving behind the health and safety if the people of Karnataka during a pandemic.
Thus, as a responsible citizen of this country I would applaud BJP MP Tejasvi Surya’s unbiased initiative and quick action against the scam.
